Clik here to view.LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – King of Pop Michael Jackson is gone, but he is not forgotten — not by MTV Video Music Award voters.
The “Thriller” singer, who died in June 2009 from a drug overdose, also got the nod for best pop performance with the same medley, again topping artists including Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, TLC and his own sister, Janet Jackson, who performed a tribute to Michael the year he died.
I am requesting that you make necessary adjustments to an incorrect statement made in this article.
Mr. Jackson did not die of an overdose of drugs. Mr. Jackson died of acute propofol intoxication, as per his autopsy report.
The propofol was administered by Dr. Conrad Murray, outside of a hospital setting, and without proper monitoring equipment. Dr. Conrad Murray is now standing trial for the manslughter of Mr. Jackson.
The statement in this article is only perpetuating a lie that is being bandied about by tabloid/medialoid reporters who aren’t concerned with selling the truth. Their interest lies in selling sensationlism for profit. Reuters is well-respected, and above tabloid behavior. Please make this correction.
A Fan
The official cause of death comes down to a drug overdose, no matter who administered the drugs.
I’m sure there are Jackson fans who don’t like how this looks in print, but it is a matter of record: GBU Editor
